Who we are
World Lawyer (AZA International LLC, "World Lawyer", "we", "us") operates the World Lawyer platform, a service for lawyers and clients seeking legal services worldwide, made up of four services: the lawyer database, the legal service marketplace, the case management system, and the lawyer directory. For the purposes of data-protection law, we are the data controller for the information described in this policy, except where we act as a processor on behalf of a lawyer or firm using our tools.
Our registered address is 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, Wyoming, 82801. You can reach our privacy team at admin@worldlawyer.online.
What we collect
We collect information you give us directly, information created as you use the platform, and a limited amount from third parties (such as identity or credential verification providers).
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account details | Name, email, phone, password, role (client or lawyer), and profile information. |
| Lawyer profile & credentials | Bar admission, jurisdictions, practice areas, languages, firm, and verification documents. |
| Matter information | Details you share about a legal need, messages, uploaded documents, and case records. |
| Directory listing information | Business and contact details for free listings, and additional promotional content, media, and billing details for premium listings. |
| Transaction data | Services purchased, invoices, listing fees, and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us. |
| Usage & device data | IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and actions taken on the platform. |
| Communications | Messages to support and consultation scheduling. |
Where you provide information about someone else (for example, a party to your matter), you confirm you have the right to share it with us for that purpose.
Why we use it
We use your information only where we have a lawful basis to do so. Depending on your location this includes performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the platform, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
- To run the platform: creating accounts, matching clients with lawyers, and enabling our four core services.
- To process payments: billing for legal services purchased through the marketplace, and for premium directory listings.
- To verify lawyers: confirming credentials so listings and directory profiles are trustworthy.
- To manage matters: organizing case files, deadlines, and scheduling.
- To publish listings: displaying free and premium directory listings so clients can discover lawyers and firms.
- To keep things safe: detecting fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- To improve: understanding how the platform is used and making it better.
- To communicate: service updates, and marketing where you've allowed it.
Data across our services
Different parts of World Lawyer handle data differently.
Lawyer database
Verified lawyer profiles are public by design so clients can find the right professional. Lawyers control what appears on their public profile; sensitive verification documents are never shown publicly.
Legal service marketplace
When you engage a lawyer, we share the information needed to deliver and bill for that service. Payment details are processed securely by our payment provider.
Case management system
Case files, documents, and notes a lawyer stores here belong to that lawyer's practice. For this data we generally act as a processor, handling it under the lawyer's instructions.
Lawyer directory
Lawyers and firms can create a free listing or upgrade to a premium listing in our directory. Free listings show basic contact and practice information; premium listings may include additional promotional content, media, and priority placement. You can update or remove a listing at any time by contacting us.
When we share
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- Between client and lawyer: as needed to deliver the service you requested.
- Publicly, for listings: information you choose to include in a lawyer database profile or directory listing is shown publicly so clients can find you.
- Service providers: payment processors, hosting, identity verification, and analytics that work on our behalf under contract.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers: if we're involved in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
Cross-border transfers
Because we serve clients and lawyers worldwide, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent measures required by applicable law.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide our services. After that, we retain only what we must for legal, tax, dispute-resolution, or regulatory reasons, then delete or anonymize it.
Matter and case records may be subject to professional retention rules that apply to lawyers; these can require longer retention periods set by relevant regulatory rules.
How we protect it
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of legal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but confidentiality is a baseline we take seriously, not an upgrade.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information. To exercise any of them, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or your browser settings.
Children
World Lawyer is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use World Lawyer after an update means you accept the revised policy.
