Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and World Lawyer, operated by AZA International LLC ("World Lawyer", "we", "us"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using World Lawyer on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Our role
World Lawyer is a technology platform and marketplace. We are not a law firm, we do not practice law, and we do not provide legal advice or representation. Using our platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and World Lawyer.
Any attorney-client relationship is formed solely between a client and an independent lawyer, on that lawyer's own terms. We are not a party to that relationship and are not responsible for the legal services provided.
We provide the tools that connect clients and lawyers and help both manage their work: a lawyer database, a legal service marketplace, a case management system, and a lawyer directory. We don't control, endorse, or guarantee the quality of any lawyer's services or the outcome of any matter.
Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use World Lawyer. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Account security: you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One identity: you may not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation.
- Notify us: tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Using our services
World Lawyer offers four core services. Each is subject to these Terms and any additional guidelines we publish.
Lawyer database
A searchable database of independent legal professionals and their verified credentials.
Legal service marketplace
Where clients request, engage, and pay for legal services from lawyers.
Case management
Tools for lawyers to organize documents, deadlines, and client communication.
Lawyer directory
Free and premium listings that help clients discover lawyers and firms.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We aim to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
Terms for lawyers
If you use World Lawyer as a legal professional, you additionally agree that:
- You are qualified: you hold a valid licence or authorization to practise law in each jurisdiction where you offer services, and you will keep it current.
- You are independent: you provide legal services in your own capacity, not as an employee or agent of World Lawyer.
- You comply with professional rules: you remain fully responsible for meeting the ethical, conflict-of-interest, confidentiality, and regulatory obligations of your bar or governing body.
- Your profile is accurate: the credentials, experience, and information you publish are truthful and not misleading.
- You honour your engagements: you deliver the services you agree to provide to clients in a professional and timely manner.
Terms for clients
If you use World Lawyer to find or engage a lawyer, you agree that:
- You choose your lawyer: the decision to engage any lawyer is yours. We provide information, not recommendations or endorsements.
- Your engagement is with the lawyer: the terms of any legal service, including scope and fees, are agreed directly between you and the lawyer.
- You provide accurate information: the details you share about your matter are truthful, so lawyers can assess it properly.
- You understand our limits: World Lawyer is not responsible for the advice, conduct, or outcomes of any lawyer you engage.
Payments & fees
Payments for legal services purchased through the marketplace are processed securely through our third-party payment provider. By making a payment, you authorize us and our provider to charge your chosen payment method.
- Service fees: we may charge fees for use of the platform, including for premium directory listings. Any applicable fees will be shown before you commit.
- Taxes: you are responsible for any taxes that apply to your transactions, unless we state otherwise.
- Refunds: payments are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is agreed directly as part of the arrangement between the client and the lawyer, or where required by applicable law.
- Chargebacks: abusive or fraudulent chargebacks may result in suspension of your account.
Acceptable use
To keep World Lawyer safe and trustworthy, you agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
- Post false, misleading, defamatory, or infringing content.
- Attempt to bypass security, scrape data, or interfere with the platform's operation.
- Solicit users to complete transactions outside the platform to avoid fees, where prohibited.
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
We may investigate and take action, including removing content or suspending accounts, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit, profiles, documents, messages, and other materials. By submitting content, you grant World Lawyer a limited licence to host, store, and display it as needed to operate the platform and provide our services to you.
You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Intellectual property
The World Lawyer platform, including its name, logo, design, software, and content we create, is owned by World Lawyer and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the platform only as permitted by these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without our written permission.
Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any lawyer's services will meet your expectations.
Because we are not a law firm and do not provide legal services, we make no representations about the competence, conduct, or results of any lawyer found through the platform.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, World Lawyer and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from the legal services provided by any lawyer, your use of the platform, or your reliance on any content.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount of fees you paid to us in connection with the relevant transaction or service.
Suspension & termination
You may stop using World Lawyer and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or where we are required to by law.
On termination, the rights you have under these Terms end, but any provisions that by their nature should survive, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as our services or the law change. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of World Lawyer after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
